HEAD AND EXTRA LAUNCHES EDUCATION SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIP FOR CHILD OF A DEDICATED STAFF MEMBER

Head and Extra, a leading manufacturer of high-quality headwear and apparel in Nigeria, proudly operating from its head office in Ilorin and recognized as the No. 1 headwear and fashion factory in Nigeria and across Africa, has announced the launch of its new Education Support Scholarship, a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative designed to support the education of children within the community while rewarding the loyalty and commitment of its staff. 

The first beneficiary of this initiative is the child of a long serving and dedicated employee, Mrs. Kalu Rosemary, whose outstanding service and consistent contribution to the organization inspired the scholarship award.

The Education Support Scholarship covers full tuition fees for the child throughout their primary school education. The scholarship is structured to run for as long as the employee remains in active service with the organization. Management has indicated the possibility of extending support to secondary education in the future, based on an internal review.

Speaking on the initiative, Bukola Ogedengbe, the Chief Executive Officer of Head and Extra, stated that the scholarship reflects the organization’s belief that supporting education is one of the most strategic ways to make a lasting impact on families and society. The CEO described the staff member as an example of dedication, discipline, and excellence, adding that the organization was proud to reinforce its appreciation in a meaningful and long-term way.

As part of its broader CSR goals, the Education Support Scholarship highlights the organization’s commitment to community development through education. By investing in the academic growth of young learners, the company continues to strengthen its role as a socially responsible and people-focused institution.
The award presentation took place at the organization’s End-of-Year Celebration, where the staff member was formally recognized in the presence of colleagues and guests.
